Jeffrey Bilhuber’s New Project is a Blissful Home in Wyoming ⇒ Elle Decor’sA-List designer Jeffrey Bilhuber has brought his eclectic and luxurious style to the rustic town of Jackson Hole, Wyoming. Let’s take a look at the designer’s newest project!
The lodge was built with 19th-century structures, and it is pretty much what one would expect from a lodging: high ceilings, fireplaces and a lot of timber. Jeffrey Bilhuber, however, had other plans for the house: “You say lodge, and you get clear ideas of what one should look like,” he says. “I had to invent a whole new language.”
The client had worked with the designer before, and his satisfaction with his work on their Manhattan home led the owner to contact him again. “Jeffrey Bilhuber is the kind of designer who takes your own taste and makes it better,” the homeowner says. “We gave him a blank sheet of paper and said, ‘Do what you want.’”
Bilhuber started by bringing in color to the lodge, which would usually have a full wooden aesthetic, by painting stripes on the floor and adding colorful furniture to match. The common spaces were designed to be cozy and inviting to the guests staying at the lodge. “I want people to congregate here,” Jeffrey Bilhuber justifies.
