Alex Allen Studio debuted its newest minimalist jewelry inspired light fixture at ICFF 2017
Founded in 2013, Alex Allen Studio specializes in a wide range of architecture and design projects that include, lighting, furniture and decorative objects. They create products and spaces with unique materials and forms yet still provide a simple and minimalist approach to interiors.
Their design is material and process driven, exploring the technical challenges of the fabrication and manufacturing process while striving to produce innovative and timeless pieces.
Recently the studio, debuted its newest lighting fixture at ICFF 2017 – the Chord – a sophisticated item that was inspired by minimalist jewelry designs, radiant in metal finishes and elegance.
A delineated semi circle gives the illusion of light emanating into a void and hides its source through a sunning geometry. The exterior contains a delicate golden finish.
CHORD features a simple but graphic shape of a semi-circle that glows from within the inner circumference, highlighting a portal of light when all other light sources are turned off.
This void became the focal point of the studio’s latest photo shoot with results that play tricks on our eyes.
It definitely looks like a earring any high end fashion lover would wear. And so do I.
