The 69th annual Emmy Awards took place on September 17th. Although the actors and directors tend to be on the spotlight none of that would be possible without the amazing set designers.<\/p>\n

This year\u2019s edition is filled with great set decorators<\/strong><\/em>, that created truly amazing masterpieces. In case you\u2019re wondering what it is \u00a0exactly that a set decorator does, he or she is the head of the set<\/strong><\/em> decoration<\/strong><\/em> and is responsible for selecting all the elements in the set, and it\u2019s not only about the d\u00e9cor, but rather about all the elements from technologies to flooring and from books to street lamps.<\/p>\n

Casalini, Italian set decorator, and her production design team managed to recreate parts of the Vatican for the series \u201cThe Young Pope\u201d. There was even a complete replica of the Sistine Chapel so the spot is well deserved.<\/p>\n

Celia Bobak, for \u201cThe Crown<\/em>\u201c<\/h2>\n

Bobak is a name to remember in the world of set design<\/strong><\/em>. She\u2019s been nominated for two Academy Awards<\/strong><\/em> for The Phantom of the Opera<\/em> an The Martian<\/em>. \u00a0This year she was nominated for an Emmy\u00a0for\u00a0her incredible and authentic\u00a0work on the series episode\u00a0about Elizabeth\u2019s coronation.<\/p>\n

Jess Royal, for \u201cStranger Things<\/em>\u201c<\/h2>\n

Christopher Carlson, for \u201cGrace and Frankie<\/em>\u201c\"These\n<\/h2>\n

Nominated For: Outstanding Production Design For A Narrative Program (Half-Hour Or Less)<\/strong><\/p>\n

Grace and Frankie, and hilariously honest tv series also has some truly stunning backgrounds. Thank\u2019s to the show\u2019s production design team the episode \u201cThe Burglary\u201d from season 3 was nominated for an Emy. The set decorator has worked in films such as The Hunger Games<\/em> and TV shows like Modern Family<\/em>.<\/p>\n

Sophie Neudorfer, for \u201cThe Handmaid\u2019s Tale<\/em>\u201c\"These\n<\/h2>\n

Nominated and Winner Of:\u00a0<\/strong>Outstanding Production Design For A Narrative Contemporary Or Fantasy Program (One Hour Or More)<\/strong><\/p>\n

Neudorfer took home the prize for her work on the dystopian series \u201cThe Handmaid\u2019s Tale\u201d. The Austrian designer is also known for her amazing work on the set of The Conjuring<\/em> and one of Pink\u2019s most iconic music videos, \u201cStupid Girl<\/em>\u201c.<\/p>\n
