From 22 to 26 of January, Paris Nord Villepinte will be invaded by a big range of wonderful brands with their new designs, but at Maison & Objet<\/a> 2016 there is more than exhibitors to discover. Since 2015, Maison & Objet tradeshow choses\u00a0one Designer of the Year for each event. Maison & Objet 2016 Paris has set that each of these two designers must fit within the profile of each of the Paris<\/a> shows, that is, a more product design-oriented profile in January and a designer more closely related to the world of interior architecture or decor for September. This year the chosen one is Eugeni Quitllet<\/em><\/strong> and today we talk about him!<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Eugeni Quitllet is a Catalan designer who readily describes himself as a \u201cDiso\u00f1ador,\u201d a contraction of the Spanish words for designer and dreamer. From object to space, Eugeni Quitllet is a designer with an unique vision for rethinking our surroundings with everevolving innovation. For all these reasons, Eugeni Quitllet is January 2016 Maison & Objet Paris Designer of the Year.<\/p>\n

\"Meet<\/a><\/p>\n

This Catalan designer was born on 17th April 1972 in Ibiza. He graduated from \u2018La Llotja\u2019 art school in Barcelona. Through his creative vocabulary he exceeds simple relationships between function and style unveiling innovative objects. Eugeni Quitllet is a design world freak capable of devouring the whole of our environment in his own way to serve it up to us transformed.<\/p>\n

\"Meet<\/a><\/p>\n

Between drawing, sculpture and contemporary archaeology, Eugeni Quitllet literally reveals silhouettes hidden in the material, extremely visual skeletal objects elegantly master fullness and emptiness often with a touch of humour: the Masters chair combines the 3 contours of legendary seats by Eames, Saarineen and Jacobsen, the K Ray lamp is an organic UFO, a network of veins hol \u2013 lowed out of the material which results in an object suspended in a frame, his signature method prevalent naturally in several of the designer\u2019s projects: the Shine vases, the Light Air lamp, the 0\u2019Clock lamp, without forgetting the O Ring watch, a hole in time in the true sense, best seller of the brand Fossil modernising watchmaking codes.<\/p>\n

\"Meet<\/a><\/p>\n

Design runs in Eugeni Quitllet\u2019s blood. \u201cMy parents both did fine arts and passed the design bug on to me. As a child I would sketch things all day long and make toys with whatever was lying around.\u201d Creating, inventing, testing out new forms: the little Eugeni Quitllet did not yet know that this would become a profession, but his future was all mapped out. \u201cI have only stepped up my game over time.\u201d<\/p>\n

\"Meet<\/a><\/p>\n

In 2011 Eugeni Quitllet took off, opened his studio in Barcelona and delighted the design world with his cheerful signature style: \u201cI love that creativity sympathetically addresses uses and people.\u201d His sentimental design doesn\u2019t neglect ecology, since it uses all manner of precious materials, starting with plastic, which can bring beauty and usefulness to many.<\/p>\n

\"Meet<\/a><\/p>\n

Because physical resources, like humans, deserve the best, Eugeni Quitllet has mastered the art of perfecting his designs, which he dresses up in empty space and light.<\/p>\n
