Luxury Retreat by David Cervera features Modest Design and Plenty of Hammocks!<\/h2>\n

The prestigious and much awarded designer\u00a0David Cervera\u00a0<\/strong><\/em>recently designed a luxury retreat in Mexico\u2019s Yucatan Peninsula<\/strong> <\/em>which is characterized by a modest and simple concept.<\/p>\n

\"David<\/a><\/p>\n

Named as El Palmar<\/strong><\/em><\/a>, the interior design project<\/strong><\/em> is nothing but a 90 square meter space located among a grove of palms in\u00a0Chuburn\u00e1 \u2013 a narrow barrier island north of M\u00e9rida.<\/p>\n

The house comprises enough space for a bedroom, a bathroom and a living and kitchen area, resulting in a simple three-room structure that overlooks a semi-open terrace to the north.<\/p>\n

\"David<\/a><\/p>\n

Its layout is split into almost equal sections, which each facing the back yard. One of the areas has no end walls in order to be exposed to the outside. A hammock was placed across the gap and overlooks the beautiful landscapes of the garden.<\/p>\n

\"David<\/a><\/p>\n

In the second area\u00a0David Cervera <\/strong><\/em>opt for full-height glass doors that\u00a0fold open to a terrace that extends from inside.\u00a0Another hammock stretches in front of the opening.<\/p>\n

The bedroom area features tall windows that provide views for the swimming pool. The pool runs parallel to the terrace but reaches much further into the palm landscape.<\/p>\n

The architecture<\/strong><\/em> is clad and lined in a local material named chukum, a waterproof coating made from tree sap, creating the perfect balance for the polished concrete floors, which are also decorated with mosaics.<\/p>\n
