Australia-based design<\/strong> <\/em>studio Bates Smart<\/strong><\/em>\u00a0<\/a>has a portfolio of award-winning architecture <\/strong><\/em>projects, that value the way people use and inhabit urban spaces. Their work is not just about aesthetics it\u2019s about creating a positive impact in the surroundings.<\/p>\n

Their project 35 Spring Street<\/strong><\/em><\/a> is by far one of the greatest examples of their philosophy. Located on the far eastern boundary of the Hoddle Grid, the luxury residential defines the urban edge of the CBD and provides a major new landmark for the city of Melbourne<\/strong><\/em>.<\/p>\n

The building\u2019s architecture \u00a0<\/strong><\/em>looks like an authentic sculptural object, on which a distinctive pattern gives the facade\u00a0a unique appearance. This outstanding detailing was not only inspired by the history of Flinders Lane<\/strong> <\/em>but also other political buildings that characterize Spring Street<\/strong><\/em>.<\/p>\n

The tower\u2019s facade features portrays\u00a0of the historic masonry walls, such as warp, weft, layering of fabric and the ashlar patterning.<\/p>\n

The distinguished architecture<\/strong><\/em>\u00a0 has a brilliant presence within the city\u2019s skyline with its vertical and horizontal facade patterns. A woven veil provides the luxury apartments<\/strong> <\/em>with defined windows and framing views of the surrounding area.<\/p>\n

35 Spring Street by Bates Smart<\/strong><\/em> has an inside-outside environment where terraces and balconies enhance the character of individual residences inhabiting a tall building.<\/p>\n

In its interior, luxury apartments<\/strong><\/em> are created to resemble an urban sanctuary to allow guests a relaxing getaway from the city\u2019s busy environment. The studio opt to combine rich and textural finishes with highly-crafted and bespoke detailing.<\/p>\n

\"35<\/a><\/p>\n

In the lobby, off-form concrete columns line the perimeter anchoring the space, while grillage frames reference the external facade design<\/strong><\/em>.\u00a0An Inge King<\/strong><\/em> sculpture, preserved from 35 Spring Street<\/strong><\/em>\u2019s previous iteration, is a heroic centerpiece positioned in the lift lobby.<\/p>\n
