10 \u2013 COVET HOUSE<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Located above the Douro River landscapes, the Covet House<\/strong><\/em><\/a> stands out in a serene manner, between rustic-style gardens and granite stonework. It\u2019s interior is surrounded by contemporary and luxury comfort, created to showcase the works of Porto\u2019s finest luxury design<\/strong> <\/em>brands including\u00a0Boca do Lobo<\/strong><\/em><\/a>, Luxxu<\/strong><\/em><\/a>, Koket<\/strong><\/em><\/a> and DelightFull<\/strong><\/em><\/a>.<\/p>\n

9 \u2013 CEBES COLLEGE<\/h3>\n

\"Architecture<\/a><\/p>\n

A group of buildings for the new facilities of the College Cebes<\/strong><\/em><\/a> (secondary school), which is situated in Foz do Douro<\/strong><\/em>, in the municipality of Porto<\/strong><\/em>. The project proposes a building that is based on the integration in the surrounding environment characterized by single-family luxury homes, volumes somewhat fragmented, with balconies and rooftops.<\/p>\n

8 \u2013\u00a0VODAFONE HEADQUARTERS<\/h3>\n

\"Architecture<\/a><\/p>\n

Designed by the architects Barbosa & Guimar\u00e3es<\/strong><\/em>, the Vodafone building\u00a0has a total of 7472 square meters of construction (3560 above and 3912 under the ground) on a site area of 1971 square meters.\u00a0The final cost of the construction was 11.500.000\u20ac.<\/p>\n

7 \u2013 CARLOS RAMOS PAVILLION<\/h3>\n

\"Architecture<\/a><\/p>\n

The Carlos Ramos Pavilion<\/strong><\/em>, one of a set of buildings of the School of Architecture of Porto<\/strong> <\/em>(FAUP), in Portugal, was designed by the architect \u00c1lvaro Siza<\/strong><\/em>. Built between 1985 and 1986 has recently been rehabilitated.<\/p>\n

6 \u2013 DOM LUIS I BRIDGE<\/h3>\n

Completed in 1886 by a student of Gustave Eiffel<\/strong><\/em>, the bridge\u2019s top deck is now reserved for pedestrians, as well as one of the city\u2019s metro lines; the lower deck bears regular traffic, as well as narrow walkways for those on foot. The views of the river and Old Town<\/strong><\/em> are simply stunning, as are the daredevils who leap from the lower level.<\/p>\n

5 \u2013 SERRALVES MUSEUM OF CONTEMPORARY ART<\/h3>\n

\"Architecture<\/a><\/p>\n

The architectural plans for the Serralves Museum<\/strong><\/em><\/a> were first drawn up in 1991 by the architect<\/strong> Alvaro Siza<\/strong><\/em>. The new building was finally inaugurated in 1999, harmoniously integrated within the surrounding urban area and the pre-existing spaces of the gardens of the Park and Villa.<\/p>\n

4 \u2013 CLERIGOS TOWER<\/h3>\n

Cl\u00e9rigos church tower<\/strong><\/em> was the tallest structure in Portugal when completed in 1763 (the national record is now Lisbon\u2019s Vasco da Gama Tower), and as the main feature of the city\u2019s skyline, ships used it as a guide when coming into Cais da Ribei<\/strong>r<\/strong>a<\/strong><\/em>. \u00a0It\u2019s a remarkable baroque landmark designed by the Italian architect Nasoni<\/strong><\/em>, who also designed the adjoining church.<\/p>\n

3 \u2013 ROSA MOTA PAVILION<\/h3>\n

\"Architecture<\/a><\/p>\n

The Pavilh\u00e3o dos Desportos<\/strong><\/em> was previously called Pavilh\u00e3o Rosa Mota<\/strong><\/em> in honour of the illustrious athlete from Porto<\/strong><\/em>. Opened in 1956, it was built to replace the famous Pal\u00e1cio de Cristal<\/strong><\/em> (Crystal Palace) which was demolished in 1951. This dome shaped building was the project of architect Jos\u00e9 Carlos Loureiro<\/strong><\/em>. It can be used for various sporting, recreational and cultural events namely, music concerts, theater, circus, congress and expositions among others.<\/p>\n

2 \u2013 VIDAGO PALACE SPA<\/h3>\n

In stark contrast to the main building\u2019s Belle Epoque<\/strong><\/em> opulence, The Spa is a minimalist oasis of clean lines and white marble. Designed by Pritzker Prize winning architect \u00c1lvaro Siza Vieira<\/i><\/strong>, the modern, zen-like space has a distinctly calming quality.<\/p>\n

1 \u2013 CASA DA M\u00daSICA<\/h3>\n

\"Architecture<\/a><\/p>\n

Casa da Musica<\/a><\/strong><\/em>\u00a0was designed by the Dutch architect Rem Koolhaas<\/strong><\/em> alongside the Office for Metropolitan Architecture<\/strong><\/em> and renowned engineers Arup<\/strong><\/em>, and no sooner was it completed, it became something of a cultural icon in Porto<\/strong><\/em>. It stands at an impressive 12 storeys high and boasts an eye-catching, irregular shape becoming number one in our list!<\/p>\n
