The royal family has owned Balmoral Castle for a very long time. It was first visited by Queen Victoria and Prince Albert in 1842 and is situated in Aberdeenshire, Scotland<\/a><\/span><\/strong>. After the Queen fell in love with it, the couple finally purchased the country mansion in 1852. Then, in 1856, it was destroyed and a new, larger building was erected there.<\/p>\n\n\n

With 150 buildings currently on the estate, it is renowned for its exquisite architecture<\/a><\/span><\/strong>, vast grounds, and intriguing royal past. The castle was created by Scottish architects John and William Smith in the baronial and Gothic revival styles.<\/p>\n\n\n

Even though Balmoral Castle is only 50 miles west of Aberdeen, it has a totally different vibe. The Grampian Mountains\u2019 foothills, in the River Dee Valley, are where the 50,000-acre estate is situated. The castle offers breathtaking views of the estate\u2019s expansive landscape because it is perched on a terrace about 926 feet above sea level. The place could \u201cmake one forget the world and its sad turmoils,\u201d according to Queen Victoria. All appeared to breathe freedom and peace at Balmoral Castle.<\/p>\n\n\n

For us to visit Granny and Grandpa, it\u2019s a lovely base where there is just enough space to breathe and run. \u201cWalks, picnics, dogs\u2014lots of dogs, there are always dogs\u2014and people coming in and out all the time\u201d were constant occurrences.<\/p>\n\n\n

Because Balmoral was a private retreat<\/a><\/span><\/strong> where the family could engage in outdoor activities like horseback riding and barbecuing while remaining hidden from prying eyes, it is said that the Queen preferred to spend her summer vacations there.<\/p>\n\n\n

Balmoral Castle was the setting for numerous historic events and was home to numerous notable people. The news of Princess Diana\u2019s passing reached the Queen while she was at Balmoral years after Princess Diana and King Charles III spent their honeymoon there. Additionally, during the beginning of the COVID-19 epidemic, it served as the location for the isolation of King Charles III and Queen Consort Camilla. Additionally, Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II passed away peacefully at Balmoral on September 8 of this year.<\/p>\n\n\n
