The Lighting Desig<\/em><\/strong>n Awards\u00a0presents and honors incredible projects in the world of illumination. Recognizing the amazing art and creativity of lighting design<\/a>, the LDA programme has fantastic categories full of talents. Here we will tell you the main winners and their amazing lighting projects<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

The King\u2019s Cross Square, in London is the winner of Exterior Lighting Project of the Year. Designed by StudioFRACTAL, this unique square is the final part of the \u00a3550 million redevelopment of Kings Cross.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

The King\u2019s Cross Square includes a 7,000m2 plaza with a highway illumination and an architectural design<\/strong> definition to the existing historic fa\u00e7ade. The project also includes new entrances to the Western Concourse and to the underground station without forgetting exits and colonnades from Kings-Cross platforms.<\/p>\n

\"Best<\/a><\/p>\n

This amazing lighting design<\/strong> square is now an important meeting place for railway passengers and local residents and pedestrians.<\/p>\n

The Winner of Leisure Project of the Year was the Everyman Theatre, in Liverpool. A creation of DHA Designs, this beautiful modern theatre<\/a><\/strong> reopened in 2014 after an extensive refurbishment. \u00a0The magnificent design begins with a lighting installation in the external fa\u00e7ade and interior front-of-house spaces.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Inside the Theatre, the ambient lighting<\/strong> had to be unique. The architect included a family of quirky fixtures, from surface-mounted or suspended metal disc fixtures to raising and lowering pendant system used in the basement bar. This lamp design<\/a><\/strong> was developed and manufactured by Mike Stoane Lighting.<\/p>\n

\"Best<\/a><\/p>\n

Fera at Claridges is the big winner of Hotels and Restaurants Project of the Year. Lighting Design International wanted to create an elegant and fresh restaurant incorporating the art deco<\/strong> splendor of Claridge\u2019s through a beautiful deco lighting<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\"Best<\/a><\/p>\n

The Rotunda\u2019s ribbed glass entrance to the main restaurant is backlit using tuneable white LED strip. In the dark \u2018ventilation grilles\u2019 are the remote-controlled pinspots that focus on every table.<\/p>\n

\"Best<\/a><\/p>\n

The BCP Affinity won the International Exterior Project of the Year. Design by Claudia Paz Lighting Studio and Nicholas Cheung Studio, the BCP Affinity is an interactive three dimensional fa\u00e7ade installation on the Banco de Cr\u00e9dito building in Lima, Peru.<\/p>\n

\"Best<\/a><\/p>\n

The modern design<\/a><\/strong> consists of a 3D fa\u00e7ade canvas with six layers of LED\u2019s, the interactive LED outdoor podium with multi-touch sensors and the interactive and lighting control systems. The outermost layer consists of large Philips ArchiPoint nodes that are visible in daylight. The next five layers of LEDs are finer points of light, held in strings of 10 LEDs using Philips Flex MX.<\/p>\n

The winner of International Interior Project of the Year is La Ciudad de Los Libros, in Mexico. Design by Luz en Arquitectura, La Ciudad de Los Libros\u00a0 is a series of small and large patios with a modern lighting technology.<\/p>\n

\"Best<\/a><\/p>\n

Projectors with cool colour temperatures are aimed down from the structures. They contrast with the warm light colour of the modern pendants in the collonaded walkways. In the library the shelves have been lit individually, and a skylight lights up when sun sets.<\/p>\n

\"Best<\/a><\/p>\n

Last but not least, here are the other winners of this year\u2019s Lighting Design Awards: Light Source of the Year \u2013 LED light engine \u2013 Soraa; Lighting Controls Product of the Year \u2013 Iridium Gen3 with CityTouch LightWave \u2013 Philips Lighting; Exterior Luminaire of the Year \u2013 Trick \u2013 iGuzzini; Interior Luminaire of the Year \u2013 String Light for Flos by Michael Anastassiades; Manufacturer of the Year \u2013 iGuzzini; Workplace Project of the Year \u2013 PricewaterhouseCoopers, One Embankment Place; Public Building Project of the Year \u2013 Heathrow Terminal 2, London \u2013 StudioFRACTALand Hoare Lea Lighting; Retail Project of the Year \u2013 Kent & Curwen, London \u2013 IlluminationWorks; Heritage Lighting Project of the Year \u2013 Dining Hall, Trinity Hall, University of Cambridge \u2013 Hoare Lea Lighting; Low Carbon Project of the Year \u2013 Cundall, Birmingham \u2013 CundallLinght4; Daylight Project of the Year \u2013 Heathrow Terminal 2, London \u2013 Hoare Lea Lighting; Special Projects of the Year \u2013 Emergence, Heathrow Terminal 2, London- Cinimod Studio; Client of the Year \u2013 Heathrow Airport; Lighting Designer of the Year \u2013 Tim Downey, studioFRACTAL<\/p>\n
