The Setai prides itself on upholding meticulous standards of Eastern hospitality (guests are checked in with an Asian tea ceremony), but its capstone suite dwarfs any lodging you\u2019d find in a luxury Tokyo high-rise. Spanning the entire 40th floor, this cavernous abode has all the trappings of penthouse living: a Steinway piano, a 10-person dining table, and four bedrooms decked in Frette sheets, all fitting easily into 10,000 square feet.<\/div>\n

The Como Suite at Metropolitan by Como<\/strong><\/div>\n
It\u2019s hard to be subtle in a penthouse, but the 1,100-square-foot Como Suite offers an edited alternative to the over-the-top luxury of Miami Beach. In addition to a large living and dining area, the suite, designed by Italian minimalist Paola Navone, has just one bedroom. With its silk-wrapped king-size bed and a color palate (white terrazzo floors, seafoam-green walls) that blends seamlessly with the wraparound ocean views, staying here is more like living on a cloud than in thumping South Beach.<\/div>\n

With two floors connected by an outdoor spiral staircase, this lavish perch is an adult playground fit for a music video. Not only do its dwellers gain access to a private elevator, an outdoor plunge pool, and a master bath that rivals the hotel\u2019s spa, they also earn the title of neighbor to Edition developer Ian Schrager, who recently bought a penthouse at the hotel.<\/div>\n
