Discover Andy Warhol\u2019s Work Through This Virtual Tour<\/strong><\/span><\/em>\u00a0\u21d2 Despite closing down indefinitely just five days after opening the \u201cAndy Warhol<\/strong><\/span><\/em>\u201d exhibition, London\u2019s Tate Museum did not let the pandemic stop the public from getting to know this iconic artist better, having filmed a walk-through of the exhibit and a discussion on the subject by Tate Museum\u2019s curated, which you can now watch from the comfort of your home.<\/p>\n

The video allows the public to take a private virtual tour of the Andy Warhol<\/strong><\/span><\/em> exhibition accompanied by expert guides, which will help understand this artist and his works better than anyone.<\/p>\n

\u201cAndy Warhol<\/strong> <\/span><\/em>is mostly known as a Pop artist, but in this exhibition, we really wanted to return to the man, and think about all of the desires, the fears that may have [driven] him to create art,\u201d the curators mention in the tour. \u201cHe was an artist that really, despite all of his insecurities, tried to be himself.\u201d To achieve that purpose, the exhibition\u2019s over 100 works of Andy Warhol<\/strong><\/span><\/em> are divided into three major groups according to important aspects of his life and identity: his immigrant roots, his input as an LGBTQ+ community member and his personal views on religion and death.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhile it is sad that our museum doors are closed, we can still offer a rich, deep, and inspiring experience of Tate online,\u201d says Hilary Knight, Tate\u2019s digital director, of the video tour, while also claiming that the virtual tour is not an equivalent of seeing the exhibit in person. \u201cWe are not trying to replicate a museum visit.\u00a0This is how we deliver Tate\u2019s purpose in an interconnected, digital way.\u201d<\/p>\n
