Frank Lloyd Wright<\/strong><\/em>, one of the most famous architects<\/strong> of all time, has left us many legendary buildings<\/strong> that are undoubtedly important marks in the history of architecture<\/strong>. The Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum<\/strong> is by far one of the most recognized buildings the architect designed and this year the Museum happened to celebrate 60 years!<\/p>\n

Built in 195<\/strong>2 and named after its late founder \u2013 Solomon R. Guggenheim<\/strong>, an American businessman and art collector, the Guggenheim Museum is located in Manhattan in the Upper East Side has become a landmark in New York City<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0and a UNESCO World Heritage Site<\/strong>. It\u2019s home to an ever-growing collection of Impressionist, Post-Impressionist, Modern and Contemporary Art that has impressed generations for six decades.<\/p>\n

To celebrate the occasion, the Museum held several events. On the day the museum celebrated 60 years \u2013 on the past 21st of October \u2013\u00a0 museum visitors could enjoy live jazz, cupcakes, tours<\/strong> and any visitor who shared the same birthday was given free entry.<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

However, the celebrations did not end here, as the Museum hosted\u00a0special events throughout the entire month<\/strong>. Special tours<\/strong>, including one designed for families with children, night tours and special tours dedicated to the iconic architect. Other events included Drawing Challenged (a collaboration between the other museums in Venice and Bilbao), workshops, studios, <\/strong>and film screenings<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Fun fact, the newly renovated MoMA<\/strong> also opened on the same day of the\u00a0Guggenheim Museum 60th Anniversary celebrations!<\/p>\n
