Each year Lonely Planet<\/strong> releases a guide with the best travel destinations<\/strong> for the year to come. The list for 2019 included destinations such as Madrid, Iceland, Liechtenstein, and Lyon. This year the travel list, which comes in the shape of a book<\/strong>, it\u2019s in its 15th edition<\/strong> and has divided the selection of destinations in several categories \u2013 including Top 10 Cities<\/strong>, Best Sustainable Trips and so on.<\/p>\n

The Lonely Planet\u2019s book<\/strong> released this year is meant to not only inform us about great under the radar destinations<\/strong> but also to push us out of our comfort zones by offering a glimpse into different cultures<\/strong> and lives.<\/p>\n

The winner is this category was Bhutan<\/strong>, the world\u2019s only carbon-negative country<\/strong> and a very sustainable country that boasts immense natural beauty, after all, it sits on the Himalayas. Other countries on the Top 10 include England, North Macedonia, The Netherlands an Uruguay<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

When it comes to cities the big winner was Salzburg in Austria with Washington D.C. coming in second. The last was a surprise but nevertheless an interesting choice to include as it will be the 100th anniversary of the 19th Amendment and there will be plenty of celebrations. Other cities include Galway in Ireland, Kochi in India, Vancouver in Canada.<\/p>\n
